The Action Coalition of Taos
(ACT) was formed in 2002 to oppose the imminent US war against
Iraq.
Since then, ACT members have led several spirited
and well-attended marches to the houses of Defense Secretary
Donald Rumsfeld in Taos to protest his role as a prime architect
of the Iraq war. We have denounced Rumsfeld as a war criminal
for his roles in seeking the militarization of space, the testing
and use of nuclear weapons including the widespread use of depleted
uranium in Iraq, the torturing of prisoners in military prisons,
and the waging of aggressive war.
ACT has also brought numerous
speakers to Taos to provide alternative views to the "embedded"
media's reporting on Iraq and the Middle East.
